Haling from Denver, Alex Close landed in Los Angeles dreaming of a big career in the film biz. She did it! She was a production assistant in the animation world and assisted a director on a major feature film. Alex was also a creative executive for a production company, and more recently, worked in new media as a producer in mobile iPhone and WAP (I just realized, that I didn’t ask Alex what WAP means…it stands for Wireless Application Protocol, which I think we lay people know as “Apps”). But her other passion now is making and selling emergency bags. Sounds like a slightly odd sideline perhaps – but a fantastic idea for us Angelinos!! Alex believes people should be able to take care of themselves in an emergency and it’s her goal to educate and prepare people for potential disasters. I think these bags are great! Easy single-strap design allows you to sling it onto your back or chest to take anywhere – perfect for keeping in your office, car and home. Keep your eyes open cause you might see Alex running, rollerblading or yogaing (I think I just made up that word) around town!!
