Brad Bose has many impressive titles: a PhD in Physiology, Masters in Kinesiology, Masters in Athletic Performance Enhancement & Corporate Wellness plus certifications from American College of Sports Medicine, National Association of Sports Medicine, International fitness professionals Association, American Fitness Professionals Association and MORE! Whew, it’s a long list for this former football player!

Brad is owner of Anatomi, a personal training gym in Santa Monica. He LOVES his gym and considers his state-of-the-art equipment like grown up toys – spectacular and fun!! There is an international flair to the gym with trainers from London to Macedonia! There is no membership and clients train by appointment, but everyone knows each other - it’s kinda like the Cheers of gyms. It’s a team effort all around where everyone encourages each other to succeed and reach their goals!!! And oh yeah, this is Los Angeles – so want to know how Robert Downey, Jr. got ripped for Iron Man and the upcoming Sherlock Holmes, uh…at Anatomi!!!

Brad brings a fresh approach to fitness with his unique techniques and concierge styled results. He focuses on a limited number of clients and reviews their medical history, past injuries, previous training, and eating habits, and then tailors a program to get the desired results. Brad has four kids starting with a 20-year-old daughter who is a Biochem major at UCSD (go Tritons!!!), an 18-year-old son at DePaul University in Chicago, and two young daughters 9 and 4. His kids can tell you, he is passionate about fitness and strongly believes that it needs to be fun – and not work – to be most effective!! I like that! It should be everyone’s life motto!!

Your favorite place in LA to have a cocktail?
The Standard Hotel rooftop.

Your favorite LA place for bargain shopping?
We usually drive to Camarillo outlet mall for bargains.

You could change one thing about LA - what would it be?
It would be to make LA more like Chicago or New York in the sense that they have a more centralized big city and LA is more like a bunch of suburbs.

You’ve always wanted to go to this LA spot – but just haven’t made it there yet?
Actually both whale watching and spending the weekend on Catalina are highest on my list.

Your favorite LA extravagance?
Has to be a day at one of the great day spas that LA has to offer.

Your favorite neighborhood haunt?
I usually go to Organic Panificio Café for Sunday Champagne brunch

Your favorite local getaway?
I don't know if you consider San Diego local but there is a great hotel called Pacific Terrace that has ocean front rooms that include a European-style breakfast and a wine tasting cocktail party every afternoon for its guests. Great owners and great guest services!!!

Your favorite place for cheap eats?
I eat at the Co-Op on Broadway in Santa Monica very often...well-prepared and healthy food.

You always take out of town guests to this spot?
Inspiration Point at Will Rogers State Park...the POLO is fun and the view from Inspiration Point reminds us of just how beautiful LA is and why we live here.

You're most connected to this charity or your last volunteer experience?
Challenged Athletes Foundation - I work with Marlon Shirley…one of the greatest Paralympic Gold Medal winners and one of the nicest people I have ever met. If you need an inspirational story he has it.
