Carolyn Barnes is a New York blooded, mother of two who grew up on the stage. Carolyn has landed roles in top productions including the 20th Anniversary World Tour of “A Chorus Line” (with over 100 performances) and “South Pacific” with Sandy Duncan. She’s also co-starred in various LA-based companies with Michael Nouri, Gavin McCloud, Nannette Fabray, and Kay Ballard, among others. When Carolyn played Sylvia in the production of “Sylvia,” in Los Angeles as well as at the prestigious Laguna Playhouse, she won several theater critics awards for Best Actress. But it’s her infamous role to date that makes her most proud — “Mommy” to Sophie and Jack Barnes.

In her new role as a Domestic Diva, Carolyn figured out a way to teach moms how to maximize their time and multitask. She combined what she hated: cleaning, with what she loves: exercising – and voila Get LEAN While You CLEAN was created! It is the ultimate multitasking, tushy firming workout for the hectic mommy who claims she never has time to go to the gym. Watch out moms - she’s got ya now!! It’s a very effective interval training program that meets the needs of beginners as well as the super hyperactive who prefer the bootcamp approach.

When Carolyn has an easy night at home you’ll find her on the couch watching “So You Think You Can Dance” and perusing the latest US Weekly!

Your favorite place in LA to have a cocktail?
Anywhere they serve booze...If I’m without my kids, a bottle of wild turkey and a curb is just fine. But date night is a fab shoes and dinner at Firefly in Studio City.

Your favorite LA place for bargain shopping?
The 99 Cent Store. I never would have thought this placed rocked before I had kids! I buy tons of sugar, paper goods ,spices, noodles, and let my kids go to town and creatively cook gloopy glop (then toss it). They also have cool lip gloss!

You could change one thing about LA - what would it be?
The 405, duh.

You’ve always wanted to go to this LA spot – but just haven’t made it there yet?
EVERYWHERE! I live in suburbia, have two kids...I don't get out much.

Your favorite LA extravagance?
The Pantages Theater. I LOVE musicals!

Your favorite neighborhood haunt?
Happy Feet in Encino. For $25 bucks I can get my neck rubbed (for an hour) and I don't have to listen to anyone bitch, whine or complain.

Your favorite local getaway?
Idyllwild, The Strawberry Creek Inn B&B.

Your favorite place for cheap eats?
Tito's Taco's in Culver City. I have no clue what they use for meat (and never want to know), but OMG, yum!

You always take out of town guests to this spot?
The Magic Castle. My husband is a magician (no, he's not a geek...well, not really.)

You're most connected to this charity or your last volunteer experience?
L.A. Family Housing. I’ve done a lot of storytelling and art with the kids.
