Claudia Yuskoff

Born and raised in Southern California, last year Claudia Yuskoff found herself out of work like many other Californians. But Claudia took this as a sign to fill some passions in her life. And poof – Mmm, Me Gusta was launched! Mmm, Me Gusta is an online cooking show with new episodes every other week. She took her love for cooking, especially those recipes she learned from her mother and her travels, and shares them with all of us! Yay!
Last summer, Claudia and her mother went to the Andalusian region of Spain. They went totally wild in Sevilla, where they caught a flamenco show with a superb dinner of pork loin in red sauce. The blend of delicious cuisine and compelling performance made her feel like she had died and gone to heaven. The big reveal here is that many people don't know that prior to Spain, Claudia was a vegetarian for over ten years. This trip was the beginning of integrating meat back into her diet. Ohhh yes, Claudia, many of us enjoy a good piece of meat occasionally.
When not cooking you can find Claudia blogging, tweeting or munching on her favorite comfort food—Chilaquiles!

Todd Cancer Institute, Long Beach Memorial Hospital - I volunteered for the hospital last year and cared for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. I brought them cookies, blankets, magazines, DVDs--stuff like that. Looking ahead, I'm very interested in charities like Project Angel Food that provide nutritious meals to people undergoing debilitating illnesses. When you are sick the last thing you want to think about is: What's for dinner? I'd like to explore how I can get involved through Mmm, Me Gusta.
