David Markus

Davey (as I like to call him) is an LA native. Markus spent many years writing and producing in “the biz” and now is a very sought-after voiceover artist. You can hear him on your favorite animated show or video game! Coming this July you can hear his talents in G-Force.

Your favorite place in LA to have a cocktail?
Cat and Fiddle

Your favorite LA place for bargain shopping?
Best Buy

You could change one thing about LA - what would it be?
Traffic

You’ve always wanted to go to this LA spot – but just haven’t made it there yet?
The newly redone Griffith Park Observatory.

Your favorite LA extravagance?
Carney's. You can't ask for a tastier chili burger than Carney's. I mean, you eat on a train for heaven's sake! All aboard!

Your favorite neighborhood haunt?
Jack Sprats. They keep health in mind without sacrificing taste. Great place for brunch, with all kinds of different omelets. (I love the Power Breakfast.)

Your favorite local getaway?
Santa Barbara. Far enough away from the city, but close enough to retreat to quickly (just an hour away), if you visit, you'll see why I want to retire there.

Your favorite place for cheap eats?
French Crepe Company at Farmer’s Market. Depending on when you get there, you might have a big line to contend with. But the wait is worth it. You can get sweet crepes or more meal-like crepes. Or, you can build your own!

You always take out of town guests to this spot?
Santa Monica. If they haven't seen the Pacific Ocean, guests always wind up here. Not a bad place to wind up, by the way.

You're most connected to this charity or your last volunteer experience?
Recently, I helped build benches on a playground of a needy elementary school. Super long nails slammed into tight wood on a blazing hot day with no shade refuge... Just when I was ready to throw in the towel, a couple of eight year olds came and talked to me and thanked me... I was ready to re-charged instantly... one of the more fulfilling days of community service.
