Jackie Poles Horrick is an “animal lovin’, vegan entrepreneur” who created Alternative Outfitters, an online vegan shopping resource for fashionable, high quality, cruelty-free products that promote a compassionate lifestyle (whew, I’m out of breath.) Jackie and her business partner, Henny Hendra have won numerous awards from Veg News and PETA.

And ladies, this is super cute stuff, not the “granola hemp things from the ‘70s and ‘80s.” Everyone will love their trendy shoes, handbags, accessories, and beauty products. They even have fantastic men’s items like wallets and shoes. Oh and FYI, “vegan” in the clothing world means no leather, wool, or other animal products.

Jackie grew up in Encino and adored animals of all kinds. As a teen, she became more active in animal causes and animal welfare. She always thought that someday she would choose a career that involved animals, and that dream came true when AlternativeOutfitters.com launched online in April 2004. Jackie hikes, bikes, and shares her bed with her two dogs Petey and Annie - they even have their own carpeted steps to reach the bed. Now that’s LOVE!
