John Peccatiello - rock guy turned brilliant FX Editor! John grew up in Chicago and rocked on there till he was almost 30 years old. He channeled his inner Van Halen banging it out (can I say that?) in the bands Deetoxx and Human Gallery. When he landed in LA, John attended the Los Angeles Recording Workshop and then toured the country as a guitar tech for LA Guns, Gilby Clarke and Incubus. In 2001, he started working in post-production in TV and indie films, and now is a leading Sound FX Editor/Sound Designer at Larson Studios. In case that is all gibberish to you, sound editors create the entire audio plan for a movie or show. Foley artists – those crews who do fun stuff like slap lettuce and crush ice to simulate fight noises – take direction from him. And the sound mixers, or "re-recorders," take John’s master plan and mix it into the film/show. His job is critical. Just try to imagine any of your favorite movies or TV shows without background sound. Currently, John’s work can be heard in The Shield and Weeds. John’s big wish: to see Metallica in concert. He can’t even believe he hasn’t seen them yet in concert!
