Competing in a high-level sport at an early age set the stage for Kristin Anderson’s drive and abilities. After figure skating for 12 years, she taught ice skating, off-ice conditioning, and choreography for three years, and owned her own Pilates studios in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Now she’s partnered with M-TRAIN, a mobile fitness company that produces fitness training videos and apps.

M-TRAIN uses a training style called PASE. It mixes power, agility, strength, and endurance for an extremely effective and exciting way to stay fit and reach one’s goals. Kristin loves the fact that M-TRAIN brings this training style to as many people as possible. Hello people???!!! Training from your iPhone – anywhere, anytime, awesome!!

Training has always kept Kristin grounded through her life's ups and downs. Her previous struggles with addiction gave her a very important ingredient for being good at anything in life – empathy. It’s heightened her ability to listen to her clients with a more finely tuned ear – to really hear what their goals are and what they want to accomplish in life, so she can help them achieve it. She feels blessed to be a part of their journey. Her recovery is the root reason why she is a personal trainer - it’s her calling.

Kristin is a major foodie and LOVES food, especially dessert! Me too, Kristin! If she could, she would name herself the Vice President of All Desserts in the World. Oh yeah, VP of Desserts – I’m feeling it!! Instead, she calls herself a “taster” and a three-times-a-year “splurger.” During the holidays she picks two events to go wild with all the food she wants! The third day is her birthday. Nice plan Kristin…I might just have to steal this idea from you!!

Kristin lives in West Hollywood and during her down time you can find her frolicking on the beach listening to some old skool hip-hop with her amazing 90 lb. spotted rescue dog named Pepper.

Your favorite place in LA to have a cocktail?
Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel – super cool, great people watching.

Your favorite LA place for bargain shopping?
Decades Two. Amazing what you can find in there. Here is an example: new, this season -- Givenchy shoes for $200 (retail for $800) - and cute ones at that!

You could change one thing about LA - what would it be?
The air quality (for sure). It is a shame that working out outside hurts your lungs for 2/3 of the year.

You’ve always wanted to go to this LA spot – but just haven’t made it there yet?
Watts Towers

Your favorite LA extravagance?
The ability to tweak and change menu items to your specific necessities, freaky health liking, or current extravagant diet without the wait staff blinking an eye.

Your favorite neighborhood haunt?
The general Abbot Kinney area in Venice. Gjelina http://www.gjelina.com/ is my newest spot - except there are NO menu changes allowed. It can be tough on an Angeleno but the food and atmosphere is usually worth it.

Your favorite local getaway?
San Francisco - love the hill walking, restaurants and fresh air.

Your favorite place for cheap eats?
Myung Dong Kyoja in Korea town - noodle place.

You always take out of town guests to this spot?
Izakaya by Katsu-Ya on 3rd Street. The Sushi is comparable to Matsuhisa but doesn't doesn't drain the bank account, fun atmosphere, frequent celeb sightings.

You're most connected to this charity or your last volunteer experience?
Hollygrove- formerly the Hollywood Orphanage now is dedicated to Child and Family services. I do two donation drives a year. Volunteering at last year’s Hollygrove Olympics was a blast!!
