Horseback riding and non-dairy treats!

Ask the Yenta

Dear Yenta, Where can I find the best gelato that has multiple dairy free options, especially CHOCOLATE sorbet?”
Great question especially since Sunday is National Ice Cream Day!!! For full dairy ice cream lovers – head over to Milk on Beverly to celebrate. Just say the secret phrase… “I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice-cream!” And you will receive a free scoop of ice cream in a cup or a cone.

Milk 7290 Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90036

Here is your list of some top spots with non-dairy options:

Al Gelato (no website) is a fantastic place to go and have some gelato or sorbet, and they’ve got your chocolate sorbet!!

806 S Robertson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA  90035 (310) 659-8069
Yogurt Stop – located in WeHo, this is a  fantastic new self serve yogurt shop and they have one non-dairy choice a week – plus they have LOADS of awesome toppings.
The Hugo’s Tacos in Atwater Village has a much talked about non-dairy soft serve.

Mashti Malone’s is known for very exotic sorbet like Rose Sorbet with Sour Cherry.

Keep your eyes open for Nice Cream a vegan ice cream shop coming soon to the Cahuenga Pass!!

“Dear Yenta, I’m looking for a homeopathic pharmacy, any ideas?”

The biggest and best pharmacy is The Santa Monica Homepathic Pharmacy
I would also try Whole Foods or Erewon  – the both have large selections of homeopathic products.

“Dear Yenta, Where can I go horseback riding in Los Angeles?

I previewed Sunset Ranch on The “Y” list

Sleep

Monday, July 13, 2009

What is it about sleeping??  When you get it regularly – you don’t even think about it.  BUT – when you don’t – you’ll do anything to steal some.  I’ll bet it’s what drug addicts go through…Like when you don’t get your drug (sleep) you go through a kind of withdrawal.  You’ll try anything:  pills, bio-feedback, drinking warm milk, a special pillow, etc.  Can you imagine if you could buy sleep, like real sleep – not the kind you get with Ambien?!?  What would “real” sleep be worth??  I don’t know about you, but I feel like I’m going insane if I don’t get a full night of sleep.  What’s the craziest thing you’ve tried to get sleep?
