Saturday, October 24th

 

The Brewery ArtWalk Brewery Art Association (Downtown)
11am–6pm. From Saturday morning through Sunday night, the Brewery Art Colony’s artists host open studios, with work ranging from sculpture to painting. The Brewery is home to over 300 artists and is free and open to the public. I went to the Spring Artwalk and just LOVED it!  Check out my blog piece about it!

South LA River Tacos & Paletas Carpool Tour

 

Join Jenny Price for an exploration of the less well-known LA River, from Downtown LA to the mouth of the River in Long Beach. This tour will explore newly opened parks, water filtration projects, and of course, the mouth of the river where it empties into the Port of Long Beach. Jenny accompanies this adventure with a description of the Los Angeles River’s history, its present, and potential futures.

 

The car caravan tour will meet near the Downtown State Park (see below for closest address) at 9am and return to the park at 4:30pm, or thereabouts. Make a reservation and pay by check or credit card – your spot isn’t guaranteed until paid for. Bring your own lunch or eat tacos at the lunch stop! This event costs $25, or $20 if you are a member, student, or senior. Ask about group rates and discounts for members of Sierra Club, TreePeople, and the NRDC. Watch U2’s concert at The Rose Bowl for FREE!

 

U2 and YouTube have teamed up to broadcast a live stream of the band’s Los Angeles-area concert this weekend via its YouTube channel. The concert is Sunday, October 25th at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena at 8:30pm but if you didn’t get tickets before it sold out (or didn’t want to deal with crowds), catch the show online–live. Any fan wishing to tune in from 16 countries connected (including the US, UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Japan) will be able to watch–for free. And if you miss the live stream, the concert will be available on U2’s YouTube channel, following two full replays on both U2.com and YouTube.

I Am Obsessed With….

Okay, okay, I have a slight obsession with nail polish.  For the first time I just sat down and counted all the bottles I have – TOTAL: 82!  Hee Hee Hee…and I LOVE all of them.  I delight in going out for manis and pedis – but I often do my own nails.
